This is the most important. Don't just wait for someone to find you! It's FREE to send as many e-mails to potential roommates that you wish.

Your first step should be, and again at least once daily:

Log-in at http://www.roommate2go.com/login.cfm
Go to your Personal Homepage
Click your "View My Roomie Matches"
Click on "Details"

You can send mail from there. (Click Compose E-mail)

Or, if you're database savvy and you want to search for that perfect match:

Go to your Personal Homepage
Click "Advanced Search" and do the same thing.

With "Advanced Search", you can search any attribute. Start wide (city only), then narrow from there (add rent etc.) if you wish.

Send tons of mail. It's all about numbers.

Use the "Favorites" feature.
When you are on these pages you will see a “Favorite” button. Click it and that roomie will be added to your personal favorites. Use this to help you sort who you are considering. If a roomie later deactivates, that favorite will automatically disappear when you view “Favorites” the next time.

-2- Come Back at least once a day.
Thousands of roomies visit our site daily. Remember when mama said, "The early bird catches the worm"? and “First to the door gets in”.

This is like a job search, sell yourself and check out as many possibilities as soon and often as you can.

- 4- We are really a community.
We have become very much a community like MySpace. As such, people feel more comfortable talking to those they feel in common with. Take a couple of minutes and post your own picture, pictures of your place, and now you can
even upload a video for free.

-5- What is VIP all about?
Folks in the larger markets, New York, San Diego, L.A. etc., can have many hundreds of posts and many pages of matches. VIP brings your ad to one of the top listings in a search involving your market. You also get a red headline that you choose.

When you login to your Personal Homepage, you can upgrade there. We also run occasional specials that you will see as soon as you log in. VIP fees do not include e-mail access. If you want both, you will need to sign up for both.

-6- Tricks

a) Again, it’s all about the numbers – send tons of mail

b) Make the subject of your e-mail interesting.
Non-members can see the subject without paying. Something like “Let’s talk perfect roomie” will get attention. However, placing phone numbers and attempting to fully communicate by way of the subject in the mail system is a Terms of Service violation that will result in account termination, banning your I.P. and deletion of your mail.

c) It's a JOB!
Like mentioned above, it is really important to sell yourself like you are looking for a job. Spend the time to send the e-mails, come back daily, send more mail and please be sure to answer your mail. If you are a full member you will be able to see whatever phone numbers that matching roommates may have left.

When you decide to leave us, please be sure to “Deactivate” your ad from your
“Personal Homepage”.

d) Don’t give up.
Be Persistent! Keep plugg'in at it. It can take 30-60 days to find the right roomie in many cities.
